First 30 minutes of session is coach led team training followed by a 30 minute scrimmage.

These teams play 3v3, roster size is typically 5-6 players. For the U6 age group there is 1 practice per week for approx. an hour.

The U7 teams play 4 v 4, three field players and a keeper, roster size is typically 6-8 players. The U7 age group can practice twice a week for an hour each practice. The practice schedule is chosen by the Volunteer Coach.

Referees/facilitators are required in these age groups, supplied by the home team. Players use a size 3 ball.

These teams play 5v5, four field players and a keeper, goal and field size increases.

Roster size is typically 8 – 9 players. Teams practice twice a week, the practice schedule is chosen by the Volunteer Coach.

These teams play 7v7, six field players and a keeper, goal and field size increases.

Roster size is typically 9 – 10 players. Teams practice 2 a week, the practice schedule is chosen by the Volunteer Coach in the regular recreation program.

This format mirrors competitive rules like offside, players move from a size 3 to a size 4 ball. Teams may
interleague with teams from the Littleton Soccer Club.

These teams play 9v9, eight field players and a Keeper, goal and field size increases.

Roster size is typically 12-14 players. Teams practice 2 to 3 times a week, the practice schedule is chosen by the Volunteer Coach.

At U11-12, players will play with a size 4 ball At U13 players move to a size 5 ball.

HRSA assigns players to teams. Parents that have volunteered to coach will be assigned to a team with their child(ren).

HRSA’s goal is to assign up to 6 players per team for age U6 and U7, 8 players per team for age U8, 10-11 players per team for U9 & 10, 12-14 players per team for the U11-U13.

Coaches are volunteers and HRSA provides soccer and age specifc training for each coach at the beginning of each season.

The training instructs volunteer coaches on teaching methods that are appropriate for the age of the team they coach.

The training also instructs what is appropriate to expect for the age of their players. Instruction is provided by highly experienced and USSF licensed soccer professionals.

U6-U8 teams practice and play with a size three (3) soccer ball, U9-U12 teams will use a size four (4), and U13/older teams will use a size five (5). All players are required to wear the official HRSA uniform during games.

HRSA secures Highlands Ranch Metro District fields in Highlands Ranch and Roxborough.

Some games will be played in Littleton / Centennial, however efforts will be made to keep these fields as close to Highlands Ranch as possible.

There are two seasons per year, spring and fall:

The Spring season begins mid-March and ends in early May.

The Fall season games begins the weekend after Labor Day and ends in late October or early November.

Practices begin the week before the first games.
